NABERS Energy and Water Ratings for Office Buildings

Doing a NABERS Energy and Water Rating for your office building is a great way to check how your building rates in terms of energy efficiency and water usage. This nationally recognised rating allows you to compare your building with other office buildings locally and across Australia.

The NABERS energy and water rating is also an effective way to baseline the efficiency of your energy and water usage of your building which can be used to compare outcomes of your energy and water conservation programs on an annual basis.

For those seeking a BEEC for their building, a NABERS energy rating is a primary requirement.

SaveUEnergy has experienced NABERS Energy and Water for Offices accredited assessors who can undertake energy and water ratings, and advise on ways and means of improving your NABERS ratings through the implementation of suitable conservation measures.

For more information on NABERS Energy and Water Ratings for Office Buildings, check out the NABERS website here.

Staff at SaveUEnergy are currently seeking accreditation for NABERS Energy and Water Ratings for Apartments and Shopping Centres. We anticipate being able to offer these services August 2018.

Prepare and Submit Building Energy Efficiency Certificate (BEEC) Applications

Is your building office NLA > 1,000m2 and are you planning to sell or lease your office space/building, then you may need a Building Energy Efficiency Certificate (BEEC) prior to advertising. For more details refer to the Australian Government’s Commercial Building Disclosure (CBD) website here.

Prior to preparing a BEEC application, your building must have a NABERS energy rating (Base Building or Whole Building) and a completed Tenancy Lighting Assessment (TLA).  SaveUEnergy has staff who are NABERS accredited assessors and who can prepare TLAs

Additionally, we have staff who are CBD accredited accessors who are experienced in preparing and submitting BEEC applications on behalf of the Building owner.

Tenancy Lighting Assessments

A CBD Tenancy Lighting Assessment (TLA) is a measure of the efficiency of your building’s lighting systems within the office NLAs. A CBD TLA is required for a BEEC application.

SaveUEnergy has staff who are trained and experienced in preparing CBD TLA’s.

Energy Efficiency Audits/Assessments

We can undertake a full or partial energy efficiency audit of your home, your building, your retail space or your manufacturing plant, with the aim of identifying sustainable prioritized energy and water saving measures which will result in significant energy cost savings and an early payback period. We target saving measures that will typically achieve payback within 2 to 3 years.

As part of this service, we also assess your energy usage profile through analyzing electricity interval data to identify opportunities to manage peak loads, to establish if power factor correction and or voltage optimization is required and if Retailers electricity tariff pricing structures are appropriate for your home or business.

Through the process of carrying out our energy assessments and analyzing energy usage profiles, we have been able to identify energy saving measures which has led to our customers reducing their energy bills by up to 50%.

Our energy efficiency audits are carried out in accordance with the Australian Standard AS/NZ 3598:2014 – Energy Audits Part 1 and Part 2.

Renewable Energy Generation and Battery Storage Consulting

Complementing our energy efficiency audits, is our renewable energy generation and battery storage consulting service. We also specialise in assessing your home or business to establish if there are renewable energy generation and storage solutions that will enhance any proposed energy saving measures and which will result in a significant reduction in your energy costs.

We provide independent solar PV system assessments for your building and can provide a listing of reputable suppliers to which you can seek their quotation knowing these companies are experienced quality suppliers and installers offering tier 1 quality solar panels and inverters.

Our staff have significant experience with the installation and quality standards associated with solar and battery system installations and as such can provide independent inspection services for the building owner.

Metering Audits

Metering audits are an effective way to establish if your building has adequate and appropriate energy and water metering. It helps ensure tenants and building owner’s energy and water accounts are linked to the correct meter and are charged correctly for their energy and water usage.

The metering audit process also confirms that there is a clear delineation between base building metering and tenancy metering and that there is no cross over of gas, electricity and or water circuits resulting in an incorrect allocation of energy and water usage costs.

SaveUEnergy staff are experienced in performing metering audits in large high rise buildings and can provide advice where changes and improvements are required. In addition, SaveUEnergy staff are experienced in preparing metering management plans required for non-utility meters in accordance with the NABERS Energy & Water Ratings for Offices Rules.

Measurement and Verification

Measurement and verification is a process used to establish if implemented energy conservation measures achieve their targeted objectives and helps quantify the results to a high degree of accuracy.

Staff at SaveUEnergy are Certified Measurement & Verification Professionals who have experience in preparing and facilitating the implementation of Measurement & Verification Plans.

SaveUEnergy staff in providing M&V services use the International Performance Measurement & Verification Protocol (IPMVP), which is an internationally recognized and accepted standard used to quantify energy savings.
